I got my haircut with Alexandra here, she’s absolutely amazing. Not only did she listen to what I wanted, but she also explained everything she is doing and using. She’s very understanding and gave me a fantastic cut. I’ll definitely be returning to her!

I have a deep appreciation for James and the salon. Over the past weekend I came in as a very late walk-in. James and his associates were super gracious and penciled me in. Upon meeting James, his confidence flowed very well into his skill. I can honestly say he is a true master of his craft. He gave great insight and ideas for my hair. He showed concern and wass thoughtful in the process. Once again, James and his team are amazing and I will definitely go back again! (With an appointment this time 😁).

My mother and I got the best haircuts today from Alexandra. She took our appointments yesterday for this morning (!!!) and gave me a drastic new cut, and I could not love it more 🩶 Not only is her talent top tier, she has the best vibes. So thoughtful, chill, and kind. I am moving here next year, and will absolutely be hanging onto her card for the future.

Also to note--- Alexandra is a curly girl. As a person with curly hair, this is game changing for me. Her knowledge in this makes a huge difference in the outcome of my hair--- in the best way.

Alexandra made my dreams come true today. I wanted to take my time to write this review because you rarely get this experience in a salon. Alexandra made me feel very safe and heard the entire time I was there. She asked about my needs and expectations, and we had an amazing time talking the whole afternoon while she fixed the mess I had done on my hair for the past year. She cut and styled my curls in a way that will also allow me to wear my hair straightened when I want to. And she made me A REDHEAD, like what? She talked me through everything we were doing and that gave me a sense of security I really needed because I was very anxious about the process not actually working.
Not only did Alexandra ROCKED my world by making me look exactly how I wanted to look, she also pampered me and made me feel like I not only found a great hairstylist but also a new friend!

I went to James and he gave me a sweet body wave perm and used a real razar as well to cut my hair. Really love the super chill vibe and location. As a student they have evening hours which is very convenient.

There was a mixup with my appointment and they sat down and helped me find another hair salon to take my request for me. I’ve never seen another hair salon do something like this. James took me in early to come cut my hair. He did a great job and cut it similar to the picture I showed him. He used many different tools that I had never seen before to shape and cut my hair Located in the center to STL, so it is very convenient. Definitely Would recommend him for a friend.

Very compassionate and knowledgeable staff. I went to this salon over the weekend due to a bad experience with coloring at another salon. They got me in the day of and James provided me with professional advice on what to do next to fix the issue and much needed reassurance. I was also provided with so much support by the caring staff who answered the phone and stylist Carmela who was patient with listening to my story and so empathetic and thoughtful. I am very thankful for them and highly recommend!

James did an excellent job working with my daughter. When the result was good but not exactly right the first time, he offered to bring her back and do an adjustment to make it an excellent result. More important than the hair was the interaction. He was very thorough, talked through his thoughts, wanted her input and made it comfortable for her to talk with a professional without feeling nervous or self conscious. He was open to her thoughts and the whole interaction could have been intimidating as he is so good at his process but he made it so warm and fun!

I love this salon, and I look forward to my appointments here. James, my stylist, a master designer, is always very accommodating, on each and every visit. I am always very happy with my service when I leave. His new salon is smaller, but James and the other stylists, all have their own space, which makes it more intimate. More time and attention is spent with clients. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Prices are fair and they may vary depending on each stylist experience.

Jams took great care of my hair after I colored it myself and needed to get the brassy tones out. He went out of his way and stayed late to help me. I am so happy with my new blonde hair. The new location is more peaceful and laid back.

I recently visited this amazing hair salon and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. From start to finish, the staff made me feel welcomed and valued as a client.

The haircut was done with a straight razor and it was one of the best haircuts I've ever received. The precision and attention to detail was impressive, and I left the salon feeling like a new person. James took the time to understand my hair type and what I wanted, and he delivered exactly what I asked for.

In addition, I appreciated that the salon offered a range of hair color options, including conservative choices. I wanted to freshen up my look without making a drastic change, and the stylist suggested a beautiful, natural-looking hair color that suited me perfectly.

Overall, I highly recommend Mitchell James Salon. The staff is talented and attentive, and they truly care about their clients. I left feeling confident and happy with my new hairstyle, and I can't wait to go back for my next appointment. Five stars all around!
